Cyprus EU Association (CEA) is a non-governmental organization established in 2006 in North Nicosia, Cyprus, by Ali Erel, former head of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce. The organization was founded in response to the growing need to promote the integration of the Turkish Cypriot community into the European Union and to ensure its voice is heard in international forums.

The Cyprus EU Association seeks to convey the views and proposals of Turkish Cypriots to foreign governments, institutions, and EU bodies. Its mission is to support the social, legal, political, economic, and cultural development of Northern Cyprus in alignment with European values and standards. CEA believes in the importance of building bridges between communities on the island and with the broader European community.

The organization plays an active role in raising awareness about EU principles and policies among Turkish Cypriot citizens. It also advocates for the inclusion of Turkish Cypriots in European platforms and supports reforms that align local institutions with EU norms. Through reports, seminars, publications, and advocacy campaigns, CEA contributes to informed public debate and policymaking.

Operating under the leadership of Ali Erel, the association remains a prominent voice in the civil society landscape of Northern Cyprus, promoting democratic participation, integration, and constructive dialogue in the context of the island’s ongoing political division.
