The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2005 by a group of gender equality advocates, academics, and professionals committed to advancing women’s rights and gender equality in the Mediterranean region. Based in Nicosia, Cyprus, MIGS focuses on promoting social justice, empowering women, and addressing gender-based inequalities through research, advocacy, and public education.

MIGS is dedicated to advancing gender equality in various sectors, including policy development, education, and public awareness. The organization conducts in-depth research, facilitates training programs, and organizes public campaigns to challenge gender stereotypes and promote equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender. Through partnerships with local and international stakeholders, MIGS works to create a more inclusive and equitable society.

Guided by a Board of Directors, MIGS works with a team of experts, researchers, and advocates who bring their expertise to areas such as women’s rights, gender-based violence, and social inclusion. The organization also engages in capacity-building activities for both governmental and non-governmental entities to enhance their ability to address gender equality issues effectively.

Through its efforts, MIGS aims to create lasting change in the Mediterranean region by advocating for policies and practices that promote gender equality, safeguard women's rights, and challenge harmful gender norms.
